This is the important step to consider in a photoshoot. Visit the place before you plan the shoot. Spend some time out there and learn how to deal with every situation. Be realistic about the place you choose. Don’t get fooled by artificial elements. Go for the natural beauty more than nothing.
- Best time of the year
Once you plan your location, consider the weather depending on the place. The weather is unpredictable. You cannot avoid a bad weather, but you can plan in advance. Pack suitable clothing. In case the weather gets out of hand always have a backup. The best time to conduct a photoshoot is usually winters or summers, for a beach shoot.
- Part of the day
The best part of the day is early mornings or sunset. When you shoot in the morning you get a perfect view by sunrise and in the night by the sunset. This also depends on the location. The lower the altitude, the better will your shoot be. Plan your timings out well. Arrive way before time.
- Lighting
Lighting is the key to a successful photoshoot. Always have adequate lighting. If you worked well on the lighting you will not have to waste any time on editing later. Lighting should be taken utmost care of mostly when you do it indoors. Choose a spot where the light is falling on your shoot and you will go a long way.
- Camera settings and equipment
Set the right camera mode, aperture, focus the lens and various other settings with regards to the type of photoshoot and background of course. Carry the equipment you might need. You do not know when these come in use. Be prepared. Batteries and memory cards go without saying.
